Tuscan Wedding Task – not working – HOW SURPRISING! 29/05/2010

True to form, Zynga have launched what could have been an exciting and enticing new feature – somewhat like the Easter Egg basket and the St Patrick’s Day pot of gold… The Italian theme featuring Nonna (Grandmother) asking for your help in making arrangements and gathering supplies for the Tuscan Wedding.  Screen shots below.

One can only hope, that it won’t take as long as the ‘still not working’ Mustang Wrangling exercise.  One can only wonder why you would introduce yet another new feature, when the previous two (launched only a day or two prior) are STILL not working…

Oops! Zynga Did it Again! New Horses Released Accidentally

Seriously, the folks at Zynga, trying to present themselves as international professionals, continue to wing their way through new introductions and additions to their Farmville platform, frustrating regular paying users – will it be long before they take their hard earned cash elsewhere?

On the 28th of May 2010 many Farmville farmers lucky enough to be in ‘the right place at the right time’ found themselves magically able to request a handful of new horses (and a cow) from the ordinarily boring ‘wish list’ feature.  Those who were on the spot made the very most of the fifteen minutes or so they had, and now the feeds are spattered with foals arriving which shouldn’t even be available.  That’s wonderful for those who happened to be there, however a growing number of farmers are discovering today what they missed – and it’s not pretty.

To add insult to injury, our long awaited ‘grow your foals and calves up in the nursery’ feature has finally been added – minus the common sense we had expected.  Many speculated on how they would finally obtain the rare horses and cows they had sought for so long but been unable to purchase.  Instead of turning our foals and calves into the adult version of themselves, Zynga has thrown us a curve ball, making calves and foals grow into a completely different breed – and only a few selected breeds at that.

Zynga…hire yourself a promotions and releases manager and pick a pool of live beta testers who are committed – run a second live environment not available to the public – and use it to test your new scripts BEFORE unleashing them on the public! You’ll avoid what happened last night!!

Once inside your nursery- mouse over each animal – you will be enlightened on what you can expect to receive if this animal does in fact ‘grow up’.

Today we saw (well I haven’t seen one yet but others have) the entrance of the new Mustang horse.

Like the ‘wandering’ animals of Farmville, apparently the mustang too will just ‘show up’ randomly on your farm.

You must enlist the help of 5 of your friends to ‘wrangle’ the mustang and you have 3 days to do it!
Once completed, you will find the wild mustang in your gift box  AND you will be able to share a wild mustang foal on the feed with your friends!

***** THE NOTIFICATIONS SENT TO YOUR FRIENDS ARE SENT TO YOUR PRIVATE EMAIL ADDRESS – not to your facebook or farmville in box *************

I hope it’s not too far off visiting this Farmville addict!

Well done Zynga!  You’re at least part way there!
Just as I went to grab another one so I could post the screen shot here, Farmville enhanced and refreshed – AND the cow was gone from the market – I’d say she is coming up and they made a mistake and have taken her out again!  OOPS ZYNGA! YOU BAD!  I have five of them tucked away.  I sincerely hope that they do come back with both cash and coin options though!

The new Tuscan Cow has just made its entrance…. you can purchase ONE for 10000 coins, but if you want more than one you’ll have to shell out 16 FV cash each… well I guess at least one has been made available to those who don’t buy FV cash – that’s better than nothing right? Hmm

Here she is – Isn’t she pretty?  I can’t wait to see a baby from her!!

Facebook and Zynga Enter into Long-Term Relationship

    May 18, 2010

Palo Alto & San Francisco, Calif. – Facebook and Zynga announced today that they have entered into a five-year strategic relationship that increases their shared commitment to social gaming on Facebook and expands use of Facebook Credits in Zynga’s games. The agreement provides a solid foundation for both companies to continue to work together to provide millions of people with a compelling user experience for social games.

“Facebook was a pioneer in opening their platform in 2007 and in just three years tens of millions of Facebook users play our games everyday, from FarmVille and Café World to Treasure Isle and Mafia Wars,” said Mark Pincus, founder and chief executive officer at Zynga. “We are excited about Facebook’s long-term commitment to social gaming and Zynga, and look forward to working with them and other platform providers to bring the best social gaming experience to users worldwide.”

“We are pleased to enter into a new agreement with Zynga to enhance the experience for Facebook users who play Zynga games,” said Sheryl Sandberg, chief operating officer at Facebook. “We look forward to continuing our work with Zynga and all of our developers to increase the opportunities on our platform.”

Zynga is currently testing Facebook Credits in select games and will expand to more titles over the coming months. Terms of the agreement between Facebook and Zynga were not disclosed.
