Grapevine has it that Farmville have an ‘unreleased’ Neapolitan cow and calf which will be part of their upcoming Seven Eleven 7/11 promotion – apparently unique codes will be given to those who purchase a particular icecream/product. As I always say, don’t believe everything you read on the internet, however the pics of these animals are already loaded on Zynga’s own image host.
Seven Eleven 7/11 is a big company, and operates in many countries including down here in Australia, however it is sheduled to be a USA only promotion. I don’t know about you, but I am feeling pretty ripped off right now. On a personal level I see this as an enormous slap in the face to those of us who are outside the USA and an indication of our unimportance in the world of Zynga and Farmville. In all references in the media regarding Farmville, statistics are given on a ‘global’ scale – Farmville has 76,843,258 active monthly users WORLDWIDE. The company is evidently capable of thinking globally when it comes to figures and to their public relations arena – you would think their promotions would be a little more ‘globally’ minded wouldn’t you?
I did contemplate the possibility that they would implement a system similar to the ‘fan cow’ promotion where you also got to ‘send one to a friend’ however that would not necessarily ensure everyone had an opportunity either.
What will you do?
I do believe that if this promotion goes live, without an opportunity for those outside the United States to obtain these animals either the same way or through purchasing them with FV cash, I will find another game to play.
